Making 2° C compatible with science-based emission targets

Climate protection

The Paris climate conference agreed to a two-degree Centigrade target. This target guides the energy and climate policies of many countries. Industry also supports the two-degree target. It gives companies important competitive advantages by enabling them to credibly position themselves as pioneers, to minimize their business risks, and to improve their market opportunities. Provided, that is, that they can demonstrate their carbon-abatement progress scientifically.

Do you and your company need a science-based climate-protection strategy and want to know how to develop one? Our workshop will provide you with the answers you need.

Many companies already use non-financial performance indicators for energy use and greenhouse-gas emissions in their internal reporting. The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)—a partnership between WRI, CDP, WWF, and the UN Global Compact—has now developed methods to use these performance indicators to set science-based targets to serve as company milestones for the implementation of the two-degree target. Stakeholder Reporting helps companies implement the methodology and use it for process control.

Together with right.based on science, a specialist in science-based emission targets, we invite you to learn more about these new climate strategy options by attending our workshop entitled “Definition and introduction of science-based emission targets“. It will held in Frankfurt am Main on Wednesday, 15 November 2017.
